Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is out of danger following surgery after being stabbed by an intruder in his Mumbai home early Thursday morning, his team confirmed.
The attack occurred in Khan’s upscale neighborhood, where an unidentified man reportedly broke into his house after midnight. Mumbai police are investigating the case as an "attempted burglary." Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam revealed that a scuffle ensued between Khan and the intruder.
Khan underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital for a major thoracic spinal cord injury caused by a lodged knife, along with wounds to his neck and left hand. Dr. Nitin Dange stated that the knife was removed, leaking spinal fluid repaired, and other injuries treated.
Khan's wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two children were unharmed. The family has not commented, while Khan’s team urged patience during the investigation. Fans and the media await further updates.
