UNITED NATIONS, Jan 13 – Israel's ambassador to the U.N. accused Lebanon's Hezbollah of seeking to "regain strength and rearm with Iran's assistance," describing the group as a "serious threat" to Israel and regional stability during a Security Council session on Monday.
The warning aligns with updated U.S. intelligence reported by Reuters last month, which indicated that the Iran-backed militant group is likely working to rebuild its stockpiles and forces. These actions, according to the report, pose a long-term risk not only to Israel but also to the United States and its allies in the region.
The Israeli envoy emphasized the need for the international community to address the growing threat, urging stronger measures to curtail Hezbollah’s activities. Tensions remain high as both nations and global bodies monitor the situation, which continues to raise concerns about broader instability in the Middle East.
